As if I care!

​Imagine a short conversation between Roko and his wife Benita about a football match between Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb - in some people's eyes, perhaps the most important event in the Croatian calendar. [Naravno nije tako - ali ajde Hajduk!] Roko is obsessed with football, but Benita is the opposite. The conversation goes .....

Roko: Hajduk je pobijedio Dinamo!  [Hajduk defeated Dinamo!]

Benita: Baš me briga! Koliko je sati?  [Who cares? What is the time?]

Baš me briga!

Literally: I really care! But said with sarcasm to mean "As if I care!", "Who cares!" or "So what!"

Puss! The world is coming to an end! Wake up and worry about it!


Really? Yawn .... Ho hum .... Baš me briga!
