Declension of regular feminine nouns
Regular feminine nouns (that is, feminine nouns that decline in the ‘standard’ way) have the ending -a in the singular, nominative case (See Grammar Reference/Nouns #004: Declension categories of Croatian nouns).

Even declined nouns make little sense unless in sentences which demonstrate their cases. Here, the feminine nouns ptica and knjiga are used as models in sentences.
So, if you are learning Croatian, you now have a quick reference to the endings of regular feminine nouns (singular and plural) in the various cases.
But beware: as the declination of knjiga in singular dative and locative cases (knjizi) indicates, the stems of these nouns can be subject to change by sibilarization or palatalization (Croatian grammar #014: Sibiliarization and palatalization), or iotation (Croatian grammar #015: Iotation).
