Auto is a masculine-gender noun.

It seems that this has been posted by the owner of the billboard in an interesting pitch to advertisers to buy their space. It is a rather playful statement that, since the word automobile is masculine gender, so is its shortened form, auto, even though it finishes with -o. But beware: this is correct in standard Croatian, but there are regions of Croatia where the word auto is declined as a neuter noun.
