About Croatia: Republika Hrvatska #003Županije: the counties of Croatia
Croatia is divided into 21 administrative areas of local government (called županije).
Occasionally when I am reading a newspaper article I might see a reference to an incident or event that happened in Sisačko-moslovačka županija (for example), and so I read on in ignorance unless I look it up on the internet. So just for myself it would be good to have an immediate point of reference at a glance. Perhaps you might find it useful also ….
The Croatian government provides a clear map showing the location of these:

Grad Zagreb The City of Zagreb
Here is another version, of unknown origin and with some numbers of unknown meaning, that you might find useful:
Note the different form of the names in this map – for example, Sisak-Moslavina, rather than Sisačko-moslavačka županija.
You can find the administrative centre, the population, and the area – as well as the URL for the website for each county - at http://croatia.eu/article.php?lang=2&id=30.
Smaller administrative units within the counties are 127 cities and towns in urban areas, and 429 municipalities in less-populated regions.
