So, you want to be a real Croat, eh? Or at least, seem to be .....
Ovako: Like this, do it like this, (in) this way.
Here's an example of how ovako is used, for context:
Nevenka: Ivane, koji je najbolji put do glavnog kolodvora? [Ivan, which is the best way to the main station?]
Ivan: Ovako .... Idi ravno Jurišićevom sve dok ne dođeš do Praške, pa onda skreni lijevo. [It's like this ... Go straight along Jurišićeva ulica until you come to Praška, and then turn left.]
Or, perhaps ......
Goran: Ivane, vidi kako to pokušavam raditi. [Ivan, see how I am trying to do it.]
Ivan: Ma ne tako, Gorane. Ovako ... . [Not like that, Goran. Like this ...]

But ovako is used more widely than to just indicate how something is done: for example, to indicate what you are thinking, to mean something like "it goes like this": Imam pitanje za tebe. Ovako ...... Zašto izlazi sunce svako jutro?
Marija: Stjepan, moram ti reći nešto. Ovako, ......
Just throw in "ovako" whenever you stop for a breath, and you will seem like the real thing!
