Olgica: "On će dati Ivanu poklon." Koji je padež "dati Ivanu" (give to Ivan)? Naravno ... dativ! Aha! Now there is a memorizing device: dati and dativ .... to give (something) to whom? Remarkably, this little association by similarity of words probably doesn't occur in any other language - except perhaps in other slavic languages. Just thinking!
